Arnold Thomas is a member of the Shoshone Paiute Tribes of
the Duck Valley Indian Reservation in Owyhee, Nevada. For the past 15 years, he
has consulted with communities throughout North America. Arnold is a very
dynamic motivational speaker and has a powerful message to share. He earned his
bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master’s degree in Social Work from the
University of Utah. Arnold has been involved in developing curriculum for
substance abuse and suicide prevention and intervention programs on the local
and national levels. He was a member of the National Institute of Health’s
C-SAT (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment) work group in Washington D.C. He
also served as a spiritual advisor for Native American inmates incarcerated in
the Utah Sate Correctional system. Arnold currently works with homeless Native
Americans through Volunteers of America and serves as spiritual advisor for
inpatient substance abusers at the George E. Whalen Department of Veterans
Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
